Landon Shill is an artist I had the pleasure of getting to know while helping him finish a six-song EP at Hit Warehouse—work he had initially begun recording in Austin, Texas. By this session, we had reached the final phase of tracking, with only a few background-vocal layers left before the project was ready to move into post-production.
During the evening vocal session, Landon took clear command of the record. He moved fluidly between verses and choruses, shaping the dynamics, energy, and phrasing in ways that served both the song and the story. That kind of performance is especially important in country music, where a vocal must carry character as well as melody.

The session remains a useful example of what thoughtful vocal production can do: capture a confident performance, protect the artist’s identity, and give the mix the emotional center it needs.
